Abstracts
General Guidelines for Abstract Submissions:
Paper Rules: Singular or stand-alone proposals should be submitted as 250-word presentation abstracts. Suggested length of papers (15-20 minutes).
Panel Rules: 3-5 panelists, 250-word panel abstract and 250-word presentation abstracts. Typically, a panelist is the moderator, and any respondents are considered panelists. SLSA asks all presenters and panels to reserve significant time for Q&A. Suggested length of panels (90 minutes). If submission will be part of a panel please have each panelist submit their abstracts individually and note the panel description/topic.
Stream Rules: Please provide a 250-word stream description along with titles. If submission will be part of a stream please have each member submit their abstracts individually and note stream description/topic.
Roundtable Rules: Submit a 250-word overview of the roundtable including topic and a brief speaker bio. All sessions will be the same length (90 minutes). If submission will be part of a roundtable please have each member submit their abstracts individually and note roundtable description/topic.
Workshop Rules: Submit a 250-word overview of the workshop including topic and a brief speaker bio. Workshops are less likely, but you can also provide a proposal and rationale. All sessions will be the same length (90 minutes). If submission will be part of a workshop please have each member submit their abstracts individually and note workshop description/topic.
One Submission: In general, SLSA prefers one submission per individual, but, if there will be more than one submission, provide a note to the conference organizers about the submissions and which, if you need to pick one, you would like to see in the program. If one is a panel and the other an individual presentation, the committee will keep the panel whole if it is accepted.
All conference presenters and essay award recipients must be SLSA members; to join or renew membership: https://litsciarts.org/join-renew-membership/
